Does anyone know how best to handle this? My daughter is nearly 4 and her nappies are still soaked through each morning but all of her friends are dry!

Please don't worry about this - all children are different and they all get there in time. I think that being dry at night is determined more by physiology than anything else. A child's body has to be physically capable of going through the night dry and it's not necessarily something that can be caught. Have you read The No Cry Potty Training Solution by Elizabeth Pantley? Night dryness is covered in there and it's generally a useful, common sense approach book.

My son was 4 in April and has only just gone dry at night in the last 3 weeks.

I think its a case of mind over matter - on the odd occasion that we forgot to put a nappy on him he would be dry in the morning but as soon as you put a nappy on he would use it. We tried again when he asked about not having a nappy (this went hand in hand with him starting school) and he has only had 3 'accidents' although we think they are just as he is waking up because it seems that his pj's are wet but not the actual bed...
